What the gold silver ratio is

The gold silver ratio is how many ounces of silver one ounce of gold costs. It is the gold ounce price divided by the silver ounce price, taken at the same moment.

It is a relationship between two prices, so it moves whenever either of them moves, it rises when gold gets dearer relative to silver and falls when the opposite happens.

This page publishes the figure and its history. It is not a buy or sell recommendation and does not say what to do with it.
