Guarantee

Authenticity guarantee

This guarantee does not expire. If a piece bought on Gold Silver Global turns out not to be genuine, you get the full amount back, return shipping included, with no time limit from the purchase.

Authenticity is the one thing that admits no shades in a precious-metal piece. That is why this commitment has no end date, and why it is worth explaining which deadlines it lives alongside.

What it covers

It covers the piece being what the listing said as to authenticity, not as to taste or perceived condition.

  • The amount paid for the piece, in full.
  • Return shipping.
  • Any payment-method surcharge charged on the purchase.

Who answers for it

The seller answers, under the code of conduct they accept when publishing. Gold Silver Global mediates, holds the funds while it is resolved and recovers them from the seller where due.

On pieces with the GSG Vault seal Gold Silver Global answers as well, because those pieces have passed through our hands and our instruments.

Why this never expires and a return does

The asymmetry is deliberate. Authenticity is guaranteed forever. Change of mind and statutory withdrawal have their own, shorter deadlines, because they are different things.

Changing your mind about a purchase is a decision you take early or not at all. Finding out a piece is fake can take years, because it can mean weighing it, measuring it, running a resistivity test or sending it out to be appraised. A short deadline for that would amount to no guarantee at all.

The two claim deadlines

Within these deadlines Gold Silver Global steps in actively, holds the payment and resolves. They are two separate clocks, and the counterfeit one is far longer.

  • Not as described. 5 days from the delivery confirmed by the buyer. It is the same deadline across the whole platform.
  • Counterfeit. 30 days from the delivery confirmed by the buyer, a deadline of its own and far longer than the one above.

Past those deadlines the guarantee is still alive. What changes is the route. The claim is handled against the seller under the code of conduct and, on pieces with the GSG Vault seal, against Gold Silver Global too. Write to us and we will open it.

What counts as evidence

You do not have to take our word for it, nor we yours. Either of these works.

  • A report from a recognised grading house.
  • Verification at Gold Silver Global premises, with our instruments.

Who bears the cost of that verification is still to be set and will be published here once decided.

What is not an authenticity claim

  • The metal price having fallen since the purchase. That is never grounds for a claim.
  • A payment made outside Gold Silver Global. Off the platform there is no protection we can apply.
  • A flaw the listing described and the photos showed.

The legal text of this guarantee is being drafted. This page is its plain-language explanation and describes a commitment that is already in force.
