GSG as an app (PWA)
Gold Silver Global is a PWA (Progressive Web App). You can install it on any device from the browser — no App Store / Play Store needed.
How to install
Chrome / Edge (Android, Windows, Mac):
- Open gsg.app in the browser.
- The address bar shows an install icon (☐ or "Install").
- Click and confirm. The app appears on your desktop / home screen.
Safari (iPhone, iPad):
- Tap the Share button (square with up arrow).
- Pick "Add to Home Screen".
- Confirm and add.
Firefox (Android):
- Menu "···" → "Install" / "Add to home screen".
Enable push notifications
Go to My account → Email preferences. You'll see a "Push notifications" section with an "Enable" button.
Click it; the browser will ask for permission. Accept and you're set.
What triggers a push
- You're outbid in an auction.
- A new offer on one of your pieces.
- A counteroffer from the seller.
- A new chat message in an order or dispute.
Each category can be toggled separately. You only get pushes you opted into.
How to turn them off
Same place: Email preferences → Push notifications → toggle the global switch, or per category.
You can also revoke the permission from your browser settings (chrome://settings/content/notifications and equivalents).
Safari iOS: important limit
On iPhone / iPad, web push notifications only work if you have the app installed on the home screen. Plain Safari without install → Apple won't let us push you. That's an Apple limitation, not a GSG one.
Fix: install the PWA (steps above) and re-enable push.
